MAKING A DIFFERENCE

EVERYONE IS AN EMERGENCY RESPONDER  (EVERES )

First Aid has proven to save lives. The action of life saving measures in the first few moments of emergency greatly impact survival rate. In Ghana, a lot of people do not have any first aid training or the skill to intervene when someone goes into medical emergency at home or outside the hospital. Hence, people helplessly stand by and cry as their love one lies on the floor waiting for an ambulance to arrive, if they are lucky to be in a service area. Some people who get into accidents just bleed to death simply because, the people around them do not have any idea on how to properly stop the bleed before medical professionals arrive. The Lack of proper first aid intervention in these situations, take precious time away and drastically decreases the chance of survival.

Patients who are lucky to be transported to the hospital may end up in a more serious condition than if they had received appropriate first aid in the early stage of the medical crisis. The sad part is that, first aid training does not require any formal education and any person can acquire these simple skills to  perform life saving measures before medical experts take over. AFriHeP Ghana trains people on how to respond to disasters and different emergency situations before health professionals arrive on scene.

WHAT AFRIHEP GHANA IS DOING

EVERES PROGRAM

AFriHeP Ghana creates branches or affiliate with groups in schools, churches and communities. HOSPITAL RESOURCES

AFriHeP will contribute to hospital resources including easing the lack of bed problems. We may contract with local furniture companies to make hospital beds in Ghana which meets the needs of health care. Lack of oxygen has recently been contributing to unnecessary deaths. One of our objectives is to help in this area of oxygen supply to clinics and hospitals. Snake bite management in rural areas is also one of our top priorities
